On 27 August, Anthropic announced a research preview of the Model Hardware Standard. This shared specification is intended to let AI agents safely control physical devices, initially within a limited group of research labs and advanced manufacturers.
DigiDare commentary: this is a development to follow, not a ready-made solution for every business. Connecting software with physical processes makes clear permissions, human oversight and reliable interfaces especially important.
